Who can join KC Community Choir?

You! Our doors are open to anyone over 16. We welcome singers of all abilities even if you think you cannot sing! (Oh, by the way, you can!). You don’t need to read music, you don’t need to have experience of singing in a choir and you don’t need to have a clue what you’re doing. Come along for a free trial to see what we’re all about – You’ll be greeted with a huge smile and warm welcome.

Do I need prior singing experience to join?

Not at all! Our choir is truly all about fun first and foremost. You don’t need to read sheet music and you won’t be asked to audition. There are opportunities for more confident singers to have a spotlight moment or you’re welcome to stay very much in the background and simply enjoy the atmosphere of singing in a friendly crowd. Get in touch to find out more.

When and where do your choirs meet?

We have four terms a year which roughly follow school term dates. We rehearse weekly on Tuesday evenings in Broom Parish Church in Newton Mearns and Thursday mornings and evenings in Calderglen Parish Church (formerly known as Claremont) in East Kilbride. Your membership allows you to access to all rehearsals at any time. Both venues have large, free parking onsite and are accessible. You can join at any time of year!

What are your fees?

We have four terms a year which roughly follow school term dates. Our adults fees are paid per term in advance and include access to all three adult choirs, two private Whatsapp groups, professionally recorded guide tracks and materials, multiple performance opportunities and a whole lot of fun! Because the term lengths are variable, the individual term costs are variable too (terms are usually between 7-10 weeks long) but broken down, year-round membership costs less than £7 per week. Free trials are available for all choirs with zero pressure to sign on a dotted line so you can get a feel of what’s included without committing up front. Get in touch to arrange one now.

What types of music do you sing?

We sing a diverse range of music, from contemporary hits to beloved classics, ensuring something for everyone to enjoy. Everything is carefully arranged by our leader, Kate, and is tailored specifically for our voices. We adapt to suit ourselves as we go and love a challenge. All challenges are met with a fun outlook and we never take ourselves too seriously. Expect to learn 2, 3, 4 and 5 part harmony and be thrilled how easy it is! Sound great? Come and join us for a free trial!

Do you perform in public?

Yes! There are multiple performance opportunities available to you throughout the year. All are optional and all are very relaxed and fun. We perform in spaces around Glasgow as part of larger festivals or fundraisers and also host our own showcases. To date we have raised almost £20,000 for charity through our work and we have performed in Kings Theatre, Òran Mór, Foodies Festival Main Stage, Queen’s Park Arena, Princes Square, Silverburn, Central Station, Buchanan Street, Lavender Drive, Eastwood Theatre, St Enoch Centre and many more. October 2026 will bring 2 performances in the RSNO Auditorium at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and a performance at Hamilton Townhouse with many more performances scheduled throughout the year. All performances are optional!

Can I hire you to perform at an event?

Yes, you absolutely can! Get in touch to chat dates/availability and options for your event. We can perform for charity and are always very keen to do so and we are also available for professional/personal hire too.
